We usually forget how important regular eye examination is, it should be done regularly on average every two years. In our salon, tests are carried out by a qualified optometrist. The test is performed diligently and thoroughly, without haste. We offer professional visual acuity testing for prescription glasses and contact lenses. We run diagnostics and correction of vision defects such as myopia, presiopia, astigmatism and strabismus. We have modern equipment – an eye scanner from the renowned Japanese company Nidek, thanks to which we conduct a fundus examination. This study allows the detection of various abnormalities including the first symptoms of diseases such as age related macular degeneration (AMD), retinal diseases e.g. hemorrhage, optic nerve disease (glaucoma), neovascularization, cataracts and many others. On the occasion of „reading from the retina” it is possible to recognize systemic diseases such as diabetes, atherosclerosis or hypertension. We also work with an ophthalmologist. People who wear glasses in our salon do not pay for eye tests.

What does the eye test look like?

After arranging the appointment in advance, we perform an optical refraction test. Our specialist interviews the patient regarding previous correction (if any), last ophthalmic / optometric visit, eye disease or medication. At the beginning we take a photo of the fundus with a scanner. Then the pressure is measured using the non-contact method using an air tonometer. air-puff, this measurement requires no anesthesia and is painless, it relies on a quick and gentle air blast towards the cornea. The next step is to perform a computer eye test on a device called an autorefractometer. Looking at this device first one then the other eye we see the image usually it is a balloon at the end of the road. At first, the image is blurred until it becomes sharp after a while. During this time, your collection ability is measured using infrared rays. This test takes several seconds. The result obtained specifies the first information regarding the ability to see. After these measurements, we move to the most important examination called „subjective eye examination”. This test is carried out on a device called the optopter. There are various types of questions asked by the optometrist, whose purpose is to determine the visual acuity of the distance to the distance. This test lasts the longest of all, usually about 20 minutes. After this time, the correction is already known, the test results are discussed with the patient and the prescription for the glasses is recorded. An optometrist may also suggest specific lenses that will be ideal for the patient.
