The upper part is responsible for clear distance vision, while the lower one allows for sharp and comfortable vision at close distances (approx. 40 cm). In the middle there is the so-called middle zone, which allows good vision of intermediate distances, e.g. monitors (approx. 1.5-2 m). There are several contraindications to the use of progressive glasses.
